East Central Illinois is mourning the loss of Tanya M. Collier, 38, of Romeoville, following a devastating collision near Elliott involving a passenger vehicle and a school bus carrying members of the Hoopeston Middle School softball team.
According to Ford County Coroner Brandon Roderick, Collier was the driver of the passenger vehicle and died as a result of the crash. Three other people traveling in the car were injured and transported for medical treatment.
The school bus was carrying approximately 20 students from the Hoopeston Middle School softball team. The students were transported from the scene following the collision, with initial information indicating that none suffered serious physical injuries.
